The trochophore larva is a distinctive larval form of an assortment of protostomes (e.g. annelids, mollusks, bryozoans). Commonly found in the marine plankton, the trochophore is top-shaped with a marginal ring of cilia pygidium and a ciliary tuft near the mouth.
