Kim et al. (2006) examined the position of Apusomonas and concluded that it was a sister to the Opisthokonts.  If their scenario is correct, the Unikonts are not monophyletic.  Compare this unrooted tree to the figures from Cavalier-Smith and Chao (2003) and Cavalier-Smith (2003).
