These pictures show extreme cases of eating disorders.  There are more pictures of anorexics, because often bulimics are able to maintain a normal weight, and they are very secretive about their behavior.  These pictures portray the harsh reality of women suffering from serious eating disorders.  There are few pictures of men with eating disorders available.  Although men get eating disorders, they occur much less than in women.  Keep in mind that the women in these pictures still view themselves as overweight, even though their bodies are emaciated.
